Emotional Resilience

Life doesn't come with a reset button. So what do we do when things get difficult?

Things go wrong. Plans change. People disappoint us. We get things wrong. Sometimes everything feels like too much.

Emotional resilience isn't about pretending that everything is fine, being positive all the time or simply “toughening up”.

It's about understanding our emotions, recognising what happens when we're under pressure and developing practical ways to cope, recover and move forward.

This workshop explores:

  • what emotions are actually trying to tell us
  • recognising and naming emotions
  • what happens to our thinking when we're stressed or overwhelmed
  • understanding triggers and emotional responses
  • healthy ways of managing difficult feelings
  • coping with setbacks, mistakes and disappointment
  • flexibility when things don't go according to plan
  • asking for help and recognising when we need support
  • self-awareness, self-compassion and realistic expectations
  • strategies for getting back on track after difficult experiences

Through practical activities, discussion and reflection, participants can explore what resilience looks like in real life — and discover that being resilient doesn't mean never struggling.

It means having the tools, understanding and support to navigate the struggle.

Flexible format

Emotional Resilience can be delivered as a standalone workshop or developed into a six-week course, depending on your needs.

Sessions can be delivered online or in person and tailored to the age, experience and interests of your group or organisation.

Who is it for?

Schools, colleges, youth groups, community organisations and other groups looking to develop emotional awareness, practical coping strategies and greater confidence in navigating life's inevitable ups and downs.

You don't have to be okay all the time. You just need to know what to do when you're not.
