Philosophy
What if everything you think you know is wrong?
Why are we here?
What makes something right or wrong?
Can we ever really know anything?
What makes you you?
And how do you know that the person sitting next to you isn't secretly a robot?
Okay, perhaps we won't solve that last one.
But philosophy is about asking questions — particularly the questions that don't have easy answers.
This workshop introduces participants to some of the biggest ideas humans have wrestled with, exploring questions around:
- right and wrong
- knowledge and belief
- truth and reality
- free will and choice
- the mind and consciousness
- identity and what makes us who we are
- what makes a good life
We'll explore ideas from philosophers past and present through stories, thought experiments, discussion and debate.
There are no worksheets telling you what the “right” answer is.
There may not even be a right answer.
The point is to think, question, listen, challenge ideas and be willing to change your mind.
Flexible format
Philosophy can be delivered as a standalone workshop or developed into a six-week course, depending on your needs.
Sessions can be delivered online or in person and tailored to the age, experience and interests of your group or organisation.
Who is it for?
Schools, colleges, youth groups, community organisations and curious humans of all kinds.
You don't need to know anything about philosophy. You just need to be willing to ask, “But why?”
